About

Hi there!

I was born and raised in Leelanau County (Northport).  Great customer service was ingrained in me at a young age as I worked for my parents at Scotts’ Filling Station and Party Store in Northport.  I started off my career as a “Full Service” gas station attendant, and now I’m a Full Service Realtor!

As a young man in Northport, I was involved in Boy Scouts, eventually achieving the honor of Eagle Scout.  I was also fortunate to be a part of teams bringing two State Championships to the Northport Wildcats in soccer and basketball.  I played four years of college basketball at Central Michigan University (Fire up!), achieving the honor of being an Academic All-American.   I spent a 26 year career in education, serving as a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent in public schools and one year teaching for Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton.

My wife Shannon (Shannon Scott Photography) provides professional photography for all my listings.  She also provides staging consultations as needed, too.  Shannon’s first degree (before teaching) was in Interior Design and Architechure.  We also provide drone photography and videography for our listings as well.

Shannon and I have three children who all live in the area.  Our oldest Sam inherited his grandpa Ralph Korson‘s skills and works as a carpenter for Leelanau Builders.  Sawyer (the middle child) owns and operates Peninsula Painting Professionals.  Isabelle works at Peninsula Perennial Nursery part time and also runs her own landscaping business Circles and Cycles.  So, the whole family is sort of “in the real estate biz”!
